FREE ONLINE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS EXPLORING THE FORTH & CLYDE CANAL
Creative Communities: Artists in Residence is a Glasgow-wide initiative, funded by Glasgow City Council and delivered by Glasgow Life, bringing artists in residence to every ward of the city.
Changing Channels is a creative project led by local artist Saffy Setohy, artist in residence for Canal Ward. Changing Channels is focused on the regeneration of the Forth and Clyde Canal, and our changing relationship to it.
Are you a woman aged 18+ and living in the Canal Ward areas of Possilpark, Milton, Ruchill, Firhill, Hamiltonhill, Parkhouse, Lambhill, Port Dundas or Cowlairs?
Would you like to get involved in some Covid-safe, mindful activities, meet other women in the area, and creatively explore the canal?
Join local artist Saffy and her collaborators Lizzie and Margaret for a FREE relaxing and fun creative workshop course. The course will be a mixture of group online activity and gentle solo creative activity, responding to your local section of the canal. This will be guided and supported by activity packs and materials provided by the artists, as well as conversations and exercises in the online group sessions.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Working with creative and mindfulness activities, we will explore the canal and our relationship to it, through all of our senses.
We will gather everything we have made into an exhibition or other event to be shared with our communities in June 2021. This will be online or in a community space, dependent upon Covid restrictions.
Running over 5 weeks - 1 hour per week over Zoom. Plus working with the activity packs in your own time each week (30 minutes to as long as you like!)
